LinkedIn automation tool, agency or operator: which fits you?

Disclosure This page is written by GTME, one of the options compared. We’ve tried to be fair; every price links to its source so you can check.

If you have the time to run a tool well, a tool is the cheaper answer. We’re for people who don’t. Below: what each option costs, what it leaves for you to do, and what LinkedIn’s own rules say about all of them, from public prices checked on .

What each option costs a month

Tools cost $39 to $120 per LinkedIn profile, AI agents $99 to $499, and done-for-you agencies about $400 to $3,500 a month. Sales Navigator, which most serious outreach needs for searching and for personalized notes at volume, adds $119.99 a month unless someone else pays for it.

Who does what

All four send LinkedIn invitations and messages. They differ in who picks the people, who writes, who answers the replies and how much is left for you to do.

Which fits you

When each option is the right one

01

When a tool is the better answer

If you have the time to run a tool well, a tool is the cheaper answer. We’re for founders who don’t. A tool fits best when:

  1. Your deals are small enough that one meeting a month can’t carry a service fee.
  2. You enjoy writing to prospects and have the time to protect for it every week.
  3. You’re still finding out who buys, and you want to learn it from the replies yourself before handing anything over.

02

When an agency is the better answer

An agency fits when you need more than LinkedIn, or more volume than one profile can send. Choose one if:

  1. You want email and cold calling alongside LinkedIn, run by one team. GTME works on LinkedIn only today.
  2. You care more about reaching a large list than about a written reason for each person.
  3. You have several salespeople whose profiles should all be sending.

Before you sign, ask who picks the people, who writes, who answers, what runs on your account and how you leave. The nine questions, with the answers that should end the call, are in how to choose a LinkedIn outreach agency.

03

When an operator fits

An operator fits a founder who still sells and wants someone else picking who to contact, writing every message and answering every reply. At GTME your operator, a GTM engineer on our team, does that on every plan, from $299 a month. Signal adds buying signals and Sales Navigator lists; Authority adds profile management and posting for inbound. The full terms are on the pricing page, and how the four steps run is written out step by step.

The rules

What LinkedIn’s rules say about all three

LinkedIn’s User Agreement doesn’t allow automation tools, and tools, AI agents and most agencies, GTME included, send through one. Section 8.2 says members must not:

“Use bots or other unauthorized automated methods to access the Services, add or download contacts, send or redirect messages, create, comment on, like, share, or re-share posts, or otherwise drive inauthentic engagement.”

LinkedIn User Agreement, section 8.2, effective 3 November 2025

LinkedIn’s help page on prohibited software adds that members who use such tools “risk having their accounts restricted or shut down.” The risk sits with the account, whichever option you choose. What changes is who controls the volume, who writes and what happens if LinkedIn restricts you. Ours is on how we run your LinkedIn account, and it matches the contract.

How we compare

How we made this comparison

Every price is the vendor’s own public list price, with its billing basis, read on . Where a fact isn’t public, we say it isn’t published. We name tool vendors because their prices are public and comparable, and we quote two agencies only for the ends of the agency price range. We recheck every figure each quarter and before any edit.
